BO

Bo arrived at BTTR with Luke on May 18th. He is heart worm negative, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is closely bonded with Luke. They look enough alike that we think they might be siblings or father / son. They hang out with one another and often lay with their heads over one another's backs. If you see Bo, Luke is somewhere nearby, and vice versa. The following information was provided to us by the lady who found Bo and Luke:
I just looked at your website and I'm hoping that all these beautiful dogs get adopted! Crickets video just brought tears to my eyes; I just loved it! What a great idea to post this so people can see her love for life. I looked at all of the photo's; including Bo and Luke. I'm a very sensitive soul when it comes to animals I have a very large heart. I wish I had the money to keep them but I just don't. To many other extremely high financial obligations.
Anyway, I wanted to provide you with some information on Bo and Luke. Since we've had them here in the foster capacity, we've come to know them both very well. While upon their arrival to my home they appeared to be very shy but since they have come out of their individual shells. I hope this information helps get them a great home.
Bo and Luke were found on Rt. 58 down in Nottoway County, Virginia. They were in the road and almost hit by a few cars. They were captured with ease and brought to my home in Suffolk, Virginia. They went to the Animal Shelter within the county they were found and were kept unclaimed for the designated time. My boyfriend and I went back to get them out the day before they were scheduled to be euthanized. Bo and Luke went straight to the vet for a heartworm test, a medicated bath, tick removal and nail trims. They tested "Negative" for heartworm as we discussed and we were overjoyed! They are approximately 1 - 1.5 years of age. We put Frontline on them after their baths and treated them with Heartguard to ensure they stay heartworm free. When we got them here they just began running all over the place in the backyard.
Luke: Loves to get love and give kisses. He loves to run and play with Bo and my other dogs. He is great with kids! Luke loves to run after the ball but he hasn't quite learned how to bring it back to you yet. Instead, he'll make it about half way back to you and drop the ball wanting you to come to get it. Once you get to him, Luke will drop and show his belly! He wants his belly rubbed. This is his favorite thing. He's not food aggressive. He shares his food bowl with Bo and they eat together. Sometimes at different times but there's never been a problem.
Bo: Loves to run and tumble with Luke. He doesn't like being separated from Luke and I believe it's because they were most likely litter mates. He loves to get attention and give kisses too! In fact he'll try to steal all of the attention away from Luke. He likes chewing on rawhide bones; he throws them up in the air to catch and play with it before he chews it. He's not food aggressive. He shares his dinner with Luke in the same bowl. He loves to play with kids.
Bo and Luke have very similar personalities. They're both very happy, sweet, patient and well mannered dogs. When they hear your voice, they both come running. They both share the same dog house, even though we have two; one for each of them. The Cedar chips are all over the place because they love to make a bed out of them. I've had to put them back into the dog house that they share as they end up all over the place. They squeeze themselves in the same dog house just to be together. They both play well with my Chocolate and Yellow lab as well as my Catahoula Hound. We had them all out on the property last night and they were so excited and exhausted after all that running and playing. If the nose takes over, we just whistle and clap our hands loudly and they come running back. The tails are always wagging!
I hope this information helps you place them. If there is anything else you'd like to know, please don't hesitate to ask me. My heart is already aching because I know tomorrow they'll be gone. I'll miss seeing the tips of their wagging tails in the backyard and watching them run and play together. I know that you're organization will be the best thing for them!
