Beagles to the Rescue!

Raymond

Senior Neutered Male

Raymond was originally adopted in 2008. He's recently been returned to us, because he and the other dog in the house were not getting along. Raymond is being treated for a pretty bad earache, but has not been in any arguments with his 6 foster sibling dogs.

Raymond originally came to us from King William County, where he'd been a stray, probably a hunting dog. He was heartworm positive at that time. We successfully treated Raymond for heartworm in 2008.  Raymond is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, HW negative and on flea and heartworm preventative.

Since being returned, Raymond marked in his foster home once, within an hour of arrival. He has had no house accidents since then.  He started out crying a lot and being very clingy.... but settled down in about 5 days.  He was just anxious about his new situation we think... after losing his home again.  While he would prefer to sleep in a human bed, he settles into his dog bed after being put off the human bed a few times at night.

Raymond is not destructive, and is given the run of the home during the day. He uses the dog door without hesitation. His dog foster siblings include 1 large male and 5 females ranging from 60 to 10 pounds, 2 of which are very old and ignore him.  Raymond runs around and wrestles with the 3 younger dogs, who are 60, 50 and 10 lbs.

Raymond had a vet check 4/9/10 with a good report from the vet, other than the earache for which he is being treated. He is a senior boy, so he is qualified for our "Seniors Adopting Seniors" program.
