Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for volunteers, we have lots of different volunteer opportunities depending on what you’re interested in. Some involve working directly with the dogs while other are more secretarial in nature. Here are some of the volunteer positions we always need help with.
Short Term Foster Care- Usually less than a 2 weeks, often dogs that are recovering from a medical procedure or who have just arrived. Foster parents provide us with information about the dog’s personality.
Long Term Foster Care- Longer than 2 weeks, for dogs that are shy, or may need end of life (hospice) care.
Dog Transport To and From Vet- Drop off/pick for spay/neuter surgeries. Taking dogs in for routine vaccines
Socialization- Working with puppies or adult dogs, overcoming fear of new things and confidence building
Dog Training- leash training, basic obedience
Adoption Events- Lending a hand at fundraisers, adoption events, and having fun
